Edward Becker wins fellowship in Finland

Edward Becker (MArch candidate) has received an American-Scandinavian Foundation fellowship to study at Aalto University beginning in August 2013. His research “Helsinki 2030: The Contemporary Manifestation of Finland’s Architectural Vernacular,” conducted through a cross-disciplinary collaboration with local architects, planners and developers, will examine the waterfront redevelopments of Jätkäsaari, Kalasatama, and Hernesaari and their holistic planning strategies, design effectiveness, and innovation. It will result in a publication sponsored by the Finnish Fund.
