Farshid Moussavis Folie Montpellieraine

Farshid Moussavi’s (professor of architecture) firm FMA has won a competition to design a residential complex at Jardins de la Lironde in Montpellier, France. In keeping with a local tradition of innovation and elegance in its vacation homes, or folies, the city is commissioning the design of 12 apartment blocks, and the tower by FMA will be the first built. It’s been conceived with a very small footprint to minimize impact on the landscape and limited common areas to achieve a high degree of privacy for residents. Construction will begin in 2014.
