CAADRIA competition awards paper by GSD team, honors Young CAADRIA Award recipient

A GSD team has been awarded second prize for best paper in the CAADRIA 2013 Open Systems at Singapore competition. The paper was developed for the spring 2012 elective course (Re)fabricating tectonic prototypes taught by GSD lecturer Leire Asensio Villoria and supported by GSD Pierce Anderson Lecturer in Creative Engineering Hanif Kara. The project, titled “Fisac Variations: An integrated design and fabrication strategy for adaptable building systems” reconsiders the Huesos tectonic prototype developed by Miguel Fisac within the context of digital design and robotic fabrication. The team is comprised of Felix Raspall (DDes ’14), Matias Blas Imbern (MDes ’13) and Will Choi (MArch I ’12).

Felix Raspall (DDes ’14), one of the three team members, is also the recipient of the 2013 Young CAADRIA Award.
