Ana Maria Quirós (MDes ’15) is awarded the third GIS Prize for Excellence in Russian, East European, and Central Asian Studies from the Harvard University Davis Center. Her project is titled, “The Energy Empire Shifts East: An Analysis of Siberian Urbanization Processes,” and considers the case of Siberia as an exception to the conviction that where there are pipelines, urbanization follows.
