Professors Richard Peiser and Dan Bergstresser share lessons learned from the sales of bank-owned real estate in the 1980s

GSD Professor Richard Peiser and Brandeis Professor Dan Bergstresser just published an article on the sales experience  by the Resolution Trust Corporation in the aftermath of the Savings and Loan Crisis of the late 1980s-early 1990s. The results shed light on current policies for the sales of bad loans in the wake of the Financial Crisis of 2007-2009.

The article, entitled “Recovery Ratios in the Savings and Loan Crisis: Evidence from the Resolution Trust Corporation’s Sale of Bank-Owned Real Estate,” appears in the current issue of Citiscape, a journal of high-quality original research on housing and community development issues published by the Office of Policy Development and Research (PD&R) of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
