Students should count on being here in the Cambridge area by the start of fall semester classes. The Option Studio Presentation and Lottery is scheduled for Monday August 30th; option studios begin on August 31st; and all other fall 2021 classes begin on September 1st. The Pre-Term Workshops and New Student Orientation will remain virtual. Please see the 2021-2022 Academic Calendar for additional dates of importance.

As we return to a more typical mode of operation, we nevertheless remain under the CDC, Massachusetts State, and Harvard University protocols. Depending on these protocols, we may find it necessary to conduct some class sessions virtually over the course of a given week. We also need to abide by these protocols to determine whether or not mask wearing will be mandatory.

Harvard University requires COVID vaccinations for all students who will be on campus this fall. Students should plan to be fully vaccinated and have their vaccinations documented with Harvard University Health Services (HUHS) before arriving on campus. This means that you should arrive here after at least two weeks have passed since your final dose of an FDA-authorized or approved vaccine or vaccines that have been authorized for emergency use by the World Health Organization, and that you should have submitted documentation about your vaccination through the HUHS website.

For international students and any others who may be unable to access an FDA- or WHO-authorized vaccine before the fall, the University plans to offer vaccinations upon your arrival. Students may contact HUHS with questions. The Harvard International Office (HIO) website also includes information regarding various types of visas, country-specific regulations, and if/how your plan of study factors into any regulations. All international students: please consult the HIO website regularly to ensure that you always have the most current information.
