* A minimum of one studio option must be taken from those offered by the Department of Landscape Architecture.
** Distributional electives must be taken in both landscape architecture and urban planning:
- 4 units of history, theory, or representation of landscape architecture
- 4 units of electives in ecology or technologies
- 12 units fulfilling a MUP concentration
An approved list of distributional electives and courses meeting the various MUP concentrations is posted each term by each department. Please note that some courses may count toward the satisfaction of two distributional electives. For example, a landscape architecture distributional elective may also count towards completing a MUP concentration, thus opening up a free elective.
*** Courses meeting MUP methods requirements are shown in a recommended sequence, but it is not required that they be taken in the precise sequence shown. In some cases, students may waive a required course by passing an exemption exam, or an alternative course may be approved as a substitute by the faculty member advising the subject area and the program director.
Note: The MUP core course GSD 2129 is waived for those who have completed the landscape architecture core.
