Drawing to See the Outer and Inner World

Instructor: Anne McGhee, Artist/Drawing Instructor
Max Enrollment: 15
Date/Time: Jan 6 – 9/2:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Location: 7 Sumner Rd. #402
Description: If landscape can be defined as "physical features of a terrain" then many things in the world around us can be looked at as " landscape " whether it be a salt meadow, a city block or the human figure. Through drawing we will explore this broader interpretation of "landscape" by examining various morphologies in our environment (both natural and built). We will experiment with a variety of media from pencil and pen to charcoal and pastel or any combination of these. During the course of the class we will look for inspiration at the work of various artists past and present. It is the hope of this brief but intensive course to awaken one\’s imagination, sharpen one\’s sense of seeing, improve one\’s skills, and ultimately develop a certain ease and fluidity in drawing. Any level of previous experience in drawing is welcome.
