This course covers the application of landscape tools and techniques in the work of site design and planning. The course will focus on the engineering aspects and landscape techniques of land grading, drainage, and patterns of plant growth on site. The application of these site operations in project design will be introduced through the following graphic and computational methods: macro and micro-grading of landform including contour interpolation, slope analysis, planimeter measurement, cut and fill earthwork calculations (contour area, area end, and grid methods), drainage runoff and swale area measurements (rational method and Manning\’s formula),and tree soil volume requirements.
