Studies in Landscape Representation II

A sequel to the course, Studies in Landscape Representation I, this course focuses on drawing and digital computation as modes of design inquiry. A series of exercises is intended to pursue the relationship among seeing, visualizing, the act of drawing, and considering what has been drawn. The issues that define landscape architecture site, phenomena, and change are emphasized, as are those concerning form, light, shadow, volume, and space. The digital repertoire is introduced in parallel to hand drawing. Students explore representational data structures of increasing complexity and consider how those structures and tools are positioned in the design process.
