Club Medina lecture: Save Beirut Heritage

SAVE BEIRUT HERITAGE (also known as Save Beirut’s Heritage) is a cultural heritage organization based in Beirut, Lebanon.

The organization was founded in 2010 with the aims to preserve the architectural heritage within Beirut, which has come under increased threat of destruction through rampant urbanization.

Giorgio Tarraf cofounded Save Beirut Heritage as a student working towards his MA in International Affairs in Beirut. During his four-year mandate as president, the organization helped preserve over 140 architectural landmarks in Lebanon’s capital. The organization currently consists of 10,000 volunteers.
