SpainGSD Lecture: Fernando Alvarez Prozorovich, “Antonio Bonet in Argentina: The Journey From Exile”

Fernando Alvarez Prozorovich is a Licensed Architect from the ‘Escuela de arquitectura y urbanismo de La Plata, at Universidad Nacional de La Plata´ (Argentina, 1978). Ph.D. from the ‘Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Barcelona – Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña´ – ETSAB-UPC (Spain, 1991). Álvarez Prozorovich is a full-time tenured Professor of History of Art and Architecture II. He is also professor of the Master Oficial de Teoría e Historia de la Arquitectura at ETSAB-UPC. He has supervised several doctoral dissertations in relation to Latin-American authors and works.

Currently, he is also the coordinator of the Doctoral Program of Theory and History of Architecture (Departamento de Composición Arquitectónica– ETSAB-UPC) as well as director of the Master de Restauración de Monumentos at the Universidad Politecnica de Cataluña. He has co-authored the books: “La Ricarda” (Barcelona, 1996), “Antonio Bonet 1913-1989” (Barcelona, 1996), “Bonet Castellana” (Barcelona, 1999), “Antonio Bonet. El Poblat Hifrensa” (Tarragona, 2005); “Julián García Núñez” (Buenos Aires, 2005), “Arquitecturas desplazadas. Arquitecturas del exilio español” (Madrid, 2007), “Archivo Crítico Modelo Barcelona 1973-2003” (Barcelona, 2012), “Reader modelo Barcelona 1973-2013” (2013), “Arquitectura española del exilio” (2014) and “Historia del arte y de la arquitectura 1930-1989” (2015). His work has been published, in Quaderns, DC, DPA (Departament de Projectes arquitectònics), Vitruvius, Summa, Tectónica y Documenta, among others.
