Alexander Porter

Alexander Porter brings diverse interests in computation, environmental analysis, fabrication, and cultural theory to his work as an architect.  His diverse experience as a practicing architect has spanned multiple scales, including innovative workspace interiors, educational and institutional spaces, international cultural projects,  and strategic thinking for corporations and institutions.  Alexander is a licensed architect, and has worked with many award winning practices including Eisenman Architects, Toshiko Mori Architect, Höweler + Yoon Architecture, and Utile Architecture + Planning, where he is currently the Director of Architecture.

Alexander completed his Bachelor of Arts in both Classical Music and Architecture at Columbia University, and his Master of Architecture with distinction from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, receiving the AIA Medal of Honor and the Digital Design Prize for his thesis.  His academic interests seek frontiers of design through digital drawing, visualization, and imaging, as well as novel material assemblies and forms.  He has explored these topics through faculty and jury roles at institutions throughout the northeast, as well as continuous commitment to architectural practice. Alexander lives in Boston, where he enjoys all types of baking, most types of eating, keeping up with the piano, and running agility with his Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Darcy.
