We use Google Analytics to collect information about the way our visitors engage with our website. This helps us understand what users want from the site so we can continually improve it. What happens when you sign up for our newsletter?
We collect your name and email address when you sign up for our email newsletter. These contact details are stored in our email marketing platform, and are only used to send you the Graduate School of Design’s newsletter. We do not sell or share your details with any other party.
What happens when you submit a form, application, or gift?
If you submit a contact form on our site, your details are sent to the appropriate staff or faculty member so they can respond to your inquiry. These details are also stored on our site, but can only be accessed by select website administrators. Please do not share or send confidential or personal information through this site.
Applications and gifts are not submitted, processed, or stored on our site. Instead, they are handled through trusted third-party platforms. Please see these third-party platforms’ privacy policies for details on how they manage your data.
In compliance with FERPA regulations, this site does not store or publish student educational records beyond the student directory. For additional security, the student directory is password protected and is only accessible by Harvard Key holders (Harvard faculty, students, staff, and associates).
Parents/Guardians of students under 18 years old, or students over 18 years old, may request that their student profile be removed from the GSD directory by emailing [email protected].
Our website features some student projects. We receive permission from students before publishing their projects to the site, either via email or through their participation in the commencement thesis prize exhibition. Students and alumni may request that their project be removed from the site at any time by emailing [email protected].

This site complies with Harvard’s Information Security Policy and has reasonable security measures in place to help protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control.
