Conference Travel Funding

Until students have passed their general examinations, they are not eligible to apply for department conference funding. This typically excludes G1, G2 and G3 students (and some G4 students for the fall deadline). Students in these years should concentrate fully on course work and on acquiring knowledge of their respective fields in preparation for the major and minor exams. While the merit of requests is always taken into consideration, preference will be given to those students who have not received prior funding. If additional funding remains after first-time awards are granted, requests for repeat funding will be decided on a case-by-case basis and support is therefore not guaranteed.

Harvard Griffin GSAS Professional Development Fund

PhD students who entered Harvard Griffin GSAS between fall 2015 and fall 2019 and have begun or passed their third year of study may be eligible to apply for up to $2,500 from the Harvard Griffin GSAS Professional Development Fund. This program is designed to help students develop skills and competencies that will enhance their competitiveness when on the job market and serve them in their professional careers.
