Penny White Fund announces awards

The Department of Landscape Architecture has announced the 2013 Project Awards for the Penny White Fund. Sixteen projects were selected for their originality and innovation, as well as their contribution to pressing challenges related to the fields of urbanism, landscape and ecology.

Hult Prize Honorable Mention for GSD students

A team representing the GSD, Harvard School of Public Health and Kennedy School has secured an honorary mention in the 2013 Hult Prize competition for creatively using design as the medium for social entrepreneurship to address food insecurity in urban slums. The team (from left in the photo above) included Venkata Krishna Kumar Matturi, Conor O'Shea and Ghazal Jafari (MDesS candidates) working with Yogeeta Manglani (MSc, HSPH) and  Varun Bhandari (MPA, HKS).

Lukas Pauer and Lin Ye (both MLAUD '14) have been invited to speak on their work “Rescaling Watersheds: On Shanghai’s Water Infrastructure” at the 7th International Association for China Planning Conference at Shanghai Jiao Tong University from June 29 to July 1.

Krzysztof Wodiczko exhibit opens in Prague

“Out/Inside(rs),” a comprehensive show of the work of Krzysztof Wodiczko (professor in residence of art, design and the public domain), opened last week at DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague. The exhibit is the artist’s first in the Czech Republic and includes documentation of his projections on public buildings throughout the world and other installations.
